There has never been more “More” in Movies, Games & More than at the upcoming screenings of Kung Fu Panda and Mars Attacks! Friendship Park will be transformed into Po’s Village with Chinese Decorations including lanterns, fans, scrolls, umbrellas and more. There will be Tai Chi and Martial Arts Demonstrations and tables where you can see Calligraphy, Learn some chinese and see how dumplings are made. Add to that Celebration Fireworks having a table showing the tools they use to put on Bethlehem’s July 4th Fireworks and a short film about how fireworks are made and a call in by an animator that worked on Kung Fu Panda and grew up in Nazareth! Make sure you get there by 7 to see all the fun and mingle with your neighbors. Don’t forget the great snacks at the Snack Shack!

Mars Attacks will be an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD good time. We will be visited by Aliens, see a real flying saucer, learn about Mars Fact and Fiction, see a Mars Rover searching for intelligent life and More! Get to Fairview Park by 7pm for the fun and to mingle and meet new friends or reconnect with old friends.

Fairview Park was the place to be last night for a screening of Get Smart. The weather was perfect for an outdoor movie. We talked to some people who posted on Facebook that they were bored. Friends waiting for the movie to start called them and told them to come over. While at the movie they reconnected with friends they haven’t seen in 20 years.

If you had a good time at Get Smart, you are gonna have an Out of this World good time at Mars Attacks next month on Thursday July 9th at Fairview so MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!

About 200 people came out last night and enjoyed Madagascar 2 AND the staff and friends from Lehigh Valley Zoo! Storm cells stayed just to east of us so the weather was not an issue. Miles Kwiatek, an enterprising young man created his own table display to help the Zoo with their Pennies for Penguins fundraising campaign. So far the running tally is $21.83 for the Penguins. Miles will be with us again at Kung Fu Panda with his display so make sure you bring your pennies!

Friends of Friendship Park took care of the hot dogs, soda, juice boxes, etc. The popper was running flat out again making that fresh buttery popcorn we like to talk about so much! Money raised at the snack bar goes to help the garden at the park so bring your appetite to the next screening!

The 10 day forecast is looking sunny and much warmer. Glad to see the sun come out but oddly, we are still a few inches behind on rain for the year? Anyway, we should be good for Wednesday night’s showing of Madagascar 2 with Lehigh Valley Zoo bringing Hissing Madagascar Cockroaches and other creatures to Friendship Park at 7pm. Bring your Pennies for the Pennies for Penguins campaign. Those little buggers eat a lot of seafood!

Thursday is also looking good for Get Smart! Waiting to hear back on the FBI and BPD to see if they can attend as earlier planned.

Due to expected showers at 6 and 10 pm tonight’s showing of Get Smart is postponed until next week. The 10 day forecast calls for better weather next week (and warmer temps!) Let’s hope this cycle breaks!

Unfortunately the WFMZ forecast shows approaching showers and the forecast calls for a steady chance of showers from 5pm right through the night into tomorrow morning. Madagascar 2 is postponed until Wednesday June 24th.

Due to expected showers tonight, Get Smart is postponed until next week. I wish it would rain hard and clear up instead of being so iffy but again, we have to err on the side of safety for all involved.

Due to forecasted chance of thunderstorms tonight between 9-11pm, we will have to postpone tonight’s showing of Madagascar 2 until next week. The forecast for next week is much better and this stalled front should move out bringing better movie watching weather next week.
